The TomTom Traffic Index report contains data from 12 cities in Poland and 416 in the world.
How does TomTom check the level of traffic jam in cities? TomTom Traffic Index is an average additional travel time calculated relative to the travel times at the lowest traffic volume. Based on the collected data from the roads, the differences between the travel times in the least congested hours (e.g. at night) and the whole day are calculated.
The TomTom Traffic Index worth 26 percent for our city means that, on average, every trip is 26% longer than the one we could take at night.
Amsterdam, for example, has the same indicator. This is not a bad result, which will certainly be improved after the commissioning of the S8 node in Porosły.
